WHO & WHERE IS THE MCCV?
Headquartered in Modesto, California, the Manufacturers Council
of the Central Valley
represents various manufacturing firms in the Great San Joaquin Valley
encompassing the counties of San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, Madera, Fresno,
Kings, Tulare and Kern. Our members include food and wine processors, packaging and container
manufacturers, fabricators, power generators, warehousing and distribution
firms, environmental consultants, and other related businesses and industries
whose markets are local, state, national and international. The Manufacturers Council
takes a proactive approach regarding issues that impact our members such as air
quality, water quality and use, regulations, transportation, land use, energy
and more.
WHAT IS MCCV's PURPOSE?
MCCV was formed in 1991 in order to
promote
the common business interest of our members in ensuring, protecting and
improving the environment and economy of the San Joaquin Valley through public
education and community discussion of ecological, business and labor issues
affecting businesses in the Central Valley. (MCCV Bylaws) (Strategic
Plan
and Highlights)
WHO DOES
THE MCCV REPRESENT?
The Manufacturers Council represents manufacturing companies which directly
employ more than 30,000 San Joaquin Valley residents at approximately 75
facilities and create an additional 75,000 related jobs when using the direct
effect employment multiplier found in the Milken Institute’s August 2002 report:
Manufacturing Matters: California’s Performance and Prospects.
WHAT IS THE
MCCV?
The Manufacturers Council is a non-profit trade association organized under
section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code. It is governed by a board of
directors which delegates issues to various committees for research and
recommendations. It was formed to provide a collective voice for manufacturing
interests on issues of common concern. Contributions to the organization are not
deductible for Federal income tax purposes as charitable contributions, but may
be deductible as a trade or business expense if ordinary and necessary in the
conduct of business.
HOW DOES MCCV REPRESENT ITS MEMBERS?
The Manufacturers Council works with local leaders, regulators and interested
parties to ensure ongoing attainment of the organization’s goals to develop and
maintain a fair and reasonable regulatory climate under which our businesses can
operate and prosper. When issues hit the front burner, the Manufacturers Council
draws upon the technical expertise and leadership skills of its members to
provide policy makers with responsible and workable, business-friendly
solutions.
