It’s been over 25 years since the AB 2588 – Air Toxics Hot Spots Program was adopted, and introduced a new era of aggressive air toxics regulation in California. Since that time, most industrial facilities were able to comply without much of the capital costs, risk reduction and air toxic pollution controls intended by AB 2588.
However, recent changes in state health risk standards has given new life to AB 2588, and greatly expanded the number of industrial facilities that will be impacted.
MCCV is working with the SJV Air Pollution Control District and now has the list of all impacted facilities. We will be contacting all impacted MCCV members regarding the issue and to discuss how newly listed facilities can approach compliance.
For additional information, MCCV Associate Member, Trinity Consultants, is offering a complimentary webinar to discuss how a re-energized AB 2588 program will impact your facility in the years ahead. Trinity Consultants will overview and provide specific examples of how air quality agencies are using AB 2588 to scrutinize industrial facilities.
