May mccv Meeting Cancelled
MCCV'S May Working
Committees meeting has been cancelled and members are encouraged to attend
the Clearing a Path to Cleaner Air event in Fresno. This free event will
be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17 and will provided
excellent background information relative to the ozone and PM issues in
the valley, particularly as we move forward with new standards.
Pre-registration is necessary. A registration form can be downloaded from

June MCCV Meeting
features former sWRCB Member
Gary Carlton, former
executive officer of the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board and State Water Resources Control Board member will be the featured
speaker at the Wednesday, June 21 MCCV Working Committees Meeting. The
meeting will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at E&J Gallo Winery, Modesto
in the Operations Training Room. Carlton, now with Kennedy-Jenks
Consulting, will share his insights relative to changes at the regional
board.

ByProducts re-use resolution released
The Central Valley
Regional Water Quality Control Board has released a revised document
concerning the use of food processing by-products for sites within
Stanislaus County. The proposal allows re-use to continue in Stanislaus
County under specified conditions while a study panel reviews literature.
The purpose of the literature review is to determine whether additional
research is needed to address potential groundwater impacts from land
application practices. The resolution is proposed for consideration at the
June 22/23, 2006 meeting of the CVRWQCB. For details, click on the links

The San Joaquin Valley
Air Pollution Control District has prepared a response to an inquiry posed
at the April meeting of the Citizens Advisory Group of Industries about
making district compliance policies available to stakeholders. Several
additional policies will be posted to the District web site beginning May
